Description
on Saturday
on Wednesday
The exhibition of woodcuts, engravings and drawings by Susanne Müller, the artist who has received too little attention, makes it possible to make her artistic abilities and sensitivity known to a wider public. Her subjects are mountains, wooden houses, dolls or objects. On the one hand, the exhibited works show their mastery of craftsmanship, and on the other hand, they reflect on nature. The wooden houses and the objects point to their fascination with the everyday and transience.
Susanne Müller is also a keeper and researcher. This is evidenced, for example, by shards that she found while digging in the vegetable garden: she was looking for traces of her predecessors. These and other objects from her collections, some of which are models for her works, are also on display. The classroom in the old schoolhouse in Tschiertschen becomes a biographical landscape – set up with simple tables and wooden slats – and expands the picture exhibition into three-dimensional space.
The exhibition pays tribute to the broad, lifelong work of a quiet, reserved and modest artist. The audience will have the opportunity to discover the diversity and depth of her work, to explore the subtle nuances of her works, as well as to discover previously little-known objects from her collections.
Susanne Müller has lived in Praden for over 40 years. She grew up in Zurich Wipkingen. Women's Education School and four years of Arts and Crafts School in Zurich. Together with her husband, she then moved to Bern, Herisau and Praden.
Free admission, collection.
